Unbelievable! I would have never believed it was possible to get a cat to do that.

Realist:

This is obviously an issue you feel passionately about. And I also believe you when you say you would welcome a debate with Moxie and her readers about what really happened on September 11th, 2001. But I'm not sure how such a debate could proceed.

First off, I'm afraid that the only "expert" opinions you would accept would come from within the ranks of the conspiracy theory adherents themselves. Any outside experts or professionals in the appropriate fields we referred you to would no doubt be called "liars", "shills", "dupes", or "disinformation agents." Moreover, evidence that called the conspiracy theory into question would be dismissed by you as "faked", "staged", or else "irrelevant", and alternative explanations of events would no doubt be regarded as "government propaganda lies." You seem to have embraced the 9/11 conspiracy theory with a more than religious fervor, and I seriously wonder whether you are past the point of rational debate on the subject.

It was for these reasons that I did not try to respond to the extremely lengthy post you addressed to me several months back over at Moxie's blog.

Realist, what would you say to a judge or a juror who listened only to the prosecution's case, and then rendered a verdict? That would be grossly unfair, wouldn't it? A skilled prosecutor can often make what seems to be an unassailable case whilst he has the floor to himself, but a case that nonetheless crumbles when it is subjected to thorough cross-examination. It is in this spirit that I invite you to spend some time researching what the 9/11 conspiracy skeptics have do say. Here are two links I recommend that you start with:

Ryan Mackey's rebuttal of David Ray Griffin's 'Debunking 9/11 Debunking'

(a 190 page critique that rigorously cross-examines 18 claims DRG makes in his book. This should be of great interest to you, due to your apparant high regard for Mr. Griffin)

Mark Roberts on the collapse of WTC7

(Please begin reading under the table of contents, and use the link at the bottom of each page to continue).

I'm sure that the 9/11 conspiracy community has had any number of contemptuous things to say about Mr. Roberts and Mr. Mackey. I can hear you screaming at your monitor now: "Those two are shills! They're liars! They're standing up for an administration that killed thousands!" Please, Realist, let go of your pre-judged notions, let go of what you have been told, and give Mr. Roberts and Mr. Mackey a chance to speak for themselves. Don't be like the judge who would only listen to the prosecution's side of the case.

Oh, and Realist? Don't skim, don't skip ahead, read and carefully consider what is being said. Then, if you have any questions or comments about what you've read, maybe we can talk about it here. Let me emphasize that if what you post suggests that you haven't read the material I linked to, I will not respond. Deal?

p.s. I don't think Moxie will mind additional comments here, provided you keep them brief and respectful. Can you do that?
